How to play

Every song in the daily set works the same way:

  1. Press play to hear a clip of the song — up to 30 seconds long.

  2. Pick the track from four options, each shown as “title — idol”. Tapping an option locks in your guess.

  3. Guessed wrong? The question ends right there — your pick is crossed out, the correct answer is revealed, and the song counts as a miss.

  4. Every song you name right counts as one — no speed bonus. Get all ten and you finish the day 10 / 10.

You can replay the clip as many times as you like before answering — but every question gives you exactly one guess.

Where do the share card's achievement captions come from?

They're real internet and Kpop fandom slang — written by fans over the years, not by AI. Expressions like all-kill, bias wrecker, ult and 'it's giving' are documented fan and Gen-Z terms; we only arrange them into a short one-liner for each score. How this Kpop quiz works

This is a Kpop song quiz built around listening, not reading. Every question plays the opening seconds of a real track — then it's name that tune: four titles, one guess, and the answer is revealed on the spot. A round is ten songs; finish it and a fresh one is a click away, as many times as you like.

Most Kpop trivia lives in text: quizzes about members, debut years and comeback dates that test what you've read. A music quiz should test what you've heard. Here the wrong choices usually come from the same group as the right one, so recognising the artist isn't enough — you need the song. That's what makes it a fair test whether you call it a Kpop quiz or a Korean pop quiz.

The question pool is the same library behind thedaily puzzle — girl groups and boy groups across generations — and it grows every day. If you'd rather race the rest of the world on the same ten songs, play today's puzzle; if you want the classicKpop Heardle Unlimited framing of the very same mode, that page deals the same endless rounds.

What makes an audio Kpop quiz hard

The difficulty comes from how the wrong answers are chosen. Each question takes a real song and puts it next to three other songs by the same act — never a random title from somewhere else in the library. So the usual shortcut fails: hearing that a clip is unmistakably one group buys you nothing when all four options are that group. You have to separate one track from its own neighbours.

That is genuinely harder than it sounds, because most groups work in recognisable registers. A single act might have three bright, brass-driven title tracks released within a couple of years of each other, all built on similar production. The quiz also filters out near-duplicates — remixes, instrumentals and alternate versions of a song are collapsed together — so the four options are always four distinct songs rather than four spellings of one.

Acts with fewer than four distinct songs in the library are left out of the quiz entirely, since a four-option question cannot be built fairly without them. The result is a pool weighted towards groups with real catalogue depth, which is also where the interesting guessing lives: the deep cuts and B-sides that separate someone who knows a few singles from someone who knows the discography.

How to get better at the Kpop quiz

Work narrow before you work wide. The full-library quiz asks you to hold dozens of catalogues in your head at once, which is a lot to ask of anyone. Picking a single act first turns the same exercise into something learnable: ten rounds of one group's catalogue will teach you its production habits, its vocal line and the way its title tracks tend to open.

Pay attention to the reveals rather than only the score. Every wrong guess shows you the song, the artist and the album it came from, which is the part that actually builds recognition. A round where you miss four songs and remember all four is worth more than a clean round of songs you already knew.

Then widen by era. The generation pages group the library by when the acts debuted, and eras are the easiest large-scale distinction to hear — production styles moved noticeably between the mid-2000s wave, the 2010s global breakout and the current generation. Once you can place a clip in a decade by ear, the full-library quiz stops feeling random and starts feeling like a process of elimination.

Pick a narrower quiz

The full-library quiz is the hardest setting. Narrow the pool to one era, one group type or a single act — each variant keeps the same listen-and-guess rules with its own tally.

Kpop quiz FAQ

Is this a Kpop quiz with answers?

Yes — the answer is revealed the moment you lock in each guess, so you never finish a question wondering what the song was. At the end of a round you see your full tally, and the archive lists every past daily puzzle with all of its answers. Browse the answer archive.

How is an audio Kpop quiz different from a text quiz?

Most Kpop quizzes are text trivia: they ask about members, debut years or lyrics and test what you remember. This one plays the actual opening seconds of a song and asks you to name it — a listening test, not a memory test. If you can recognise an intro before the vocals kick in, you will do well here.

Is a Kpop quiz the same as a Korean pop quiz?

Same thing — Kpop is short for Korean pop. Whichever name you search for, this quiz covers Korean pop across eras: girl groups and boy groups, from classic second-generation hits to current fifth-generation releases.

Which songs can appear in the quiz?

Questions are drawn from the same library that powers the daily puzzle, and the pool grows every day after the reset at midnight UTC. Today's puzzle songs are never included, so you can warm up here without spoiling your daily run. See every idol in the library.

How hard is the Kpop quiz?

Harder than it looks. You get four choices per song, but the wrong options usually come from the same group, so you can't shortcut by recognising the artist — you have to know the track itself. For an easier warm-up, try a single group's page first, then come back to the full library.

Do I need to understand Korean to play the Kpop quiz?

Not at all. The questions ask you to match a sound to a title, and every option is written in the romanised form you would see on a streaming service. Plenty of the songs also mix English into their hooks. You are being tested on how well you know the music, not the language.

Is the Kpop quiz free, and do I need an account?

It is free and there is no sign-up. No account, no email, no download — open the page and press play. Your score is kept locally in your own browser rather than on a server.

Can I play the Kpop quiz on my phone?

Yes. It runs in a mobile browser with no install, and the whole round is designed to work one-handed. Audio is the one thing worth checking: take your phone off silent, or use headphones, since every question depends on hearing the clip clearly.

Do new songs get added to the Kpop quiz?

Yes. The library behind the quiz is the same one the daily puzzle draws from, and it keeps growing as new puzzles run and new acts are added. Songs you have never been served before will keep turning up, so a round you play months from now won't be the same pool as today's.
